A Syncron × Trillium webinar on how longer asset lifecycles and right to repair are reshaping the aftermarket opportunity.
Across automotive, construction, agriculture, transport, and industrial equipment, fleets are getting older. Higher equipment prices and financing costs have changed the repair-or-replace equation, prompting more businesses to defer capital investment and keep existing assets running for longer. Even when equipment leaves its first owner, it often continues operating in the secondary market, extending demand for parts and service well beyond the original replacement cycle.
For OEMs, that creates a larger aftermarket opportunity, but capturing it is another matter. Ageingassets generate longer parts tails, more erratic demand, and greater pressure to balance availabilitywith inventory cost. At the same time, right-to-repair regulation is giving owners and independentproviders greater access to diagnostics, parts, and technical information, making it easier to keepequipment running outside the OEM network.
An ageing installed base is a valuable commercial asset. The OEMs pulling ahead are treating it accordingly—planning for it, pricing parts and services around it, and supporting it as deliberately as they pursue the next equipment sale.
In this Syncron × Trillium webinar, Jeff Nieze and Mark Moran will explore:
- What is driving the growth of ageing fleets, and whether the shift is cyclical or structural
- How longer asset lifecycles and secondary markets change parts demand and forecasting
- What separates OEMs that use aftermarket support to strengthen loyalty from those that lose the customer relationship
- How right to repair is changing the competitive landscape for OEM parts and service
- Where OEMs should focus across availability, inventory, pricing, warranties, and service contracts
Drawing on cross-industry data, real-world examples, and practical experience, the discussion will examine how OEMs can support mature equipment profitably, protect customer relationships, and capture more of the value within their installed base.
